About Us

This is the official website of the Lincoln Lynx Alumni Association, the alumni organization of Lincoln High School in Seattle, Washington. Even though the school closed in 1981, the building was refurbished several years ago and has housed several Seattle schools while their buildings were being rebuilt or upgraded, including Ballard High School (1997-1999), Roosevelt High School (2004-2006), Garfield High School (2006-2008), and Hamilton International Middle School (2008-2010). Two elementary schools will use Lincoln's building during the coming year.

Around 1910, an alumni group was formed and every alum was automatically a member. The only requirement was that they had attended Lincoln High School. In 1948, another alumni group was formed for everyone who had been out of school for 35 years. These two groups merged in 1974, becoming the Lincoln High School Associated Classes (LHSAC). At this time it was decided to limit membership to classes who have celebrated their 50th anniversary.

In May of 1990, the Lincoln High School Alumni Association (LHSAA) was formed and its membership was open to any who had attended Lincoln as a student, faculty or staff member. In 2002, after a two-year process, LHSAC and LHSAA merged to form the Lincoln Lynx Alumni Association (LLAA).

Membership in the LLAA is open to any person who attended Lincoln as a student, staff member, or faculty member. The LLAA has a scholarship program for lineal descendants of Lincoln graduates, promotes and preserves the history of the school, and has events and programs to strengthen the bonds between its members and the community.

An Annual Luncheon is held every spring to bring together all classes, to share in the memories, and to promote the spirit of Lincoln High School. For several years, Lincoln alumni have participated in the Wallingford Kiddies' Parade. In 2007, the alumni association organized several events to commemorate the school's 100th anniversary.

Totem II

Most Lincoln High School Alums remember the school newspaper. It is still printed three times each year and includes lots of information about our school and what our fellow "Lynx" are doing. The Totem II can be mailed to you with a paid membership.
